I don't know what the aardvark I'm thinking tackling a Kickstarter campaign on top of caring for my family, working an engineering job, and having just launched a new blog! I do currently have a cold, so my head is a bit stuffy, and maybe that's why I'm not thinking so straight. And although I may not be thinking so straight, I'm so excited for this Kickstarter campaign! Because it's a Kickstarter campaign for my next book, Annie Aardvark: Adding Ants!

In case you don't know Annie Aardvark: Adding Ants is the sequel to the first children's book I wrote, Annie Aardvark, Mathematician. In the first children's book, Annie the main character goes on a counting adventure. In this second book, she's going on an addition adventure! The first children's book has received much support and love from family and friends, and some strangers, and I am so grateful for that. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I released the first book through the normal indie route; aka through our overlord Amazon. And the book's done alright-- I do feel it's been successful since people have actually purchased the book on Amazon. And more so, all the kind words and photos of kids reading it! But it's tough to gain rating traction on Amazon in the indie book world, so I thought with the second book, I'd do a Kickstarter campaign. I think utilizing Kickstarter will give Annie Aardvark: Adding Ants a bigger audience, as there's over 11 million backers on Kickstarter! If I even get 0.01% of that to view my campaign, I will kiss an aardvark!
